Schools use a large number of data applications, which are continuing to grow and change over time. As a result of this, the effort to keep data in sync between those systems and to pull together useful information from multiple sources is daunting. Using open standards such as Ed-Fi and the IMS Global OneRoster, the Michigan Data Hub (MiDataHub) has created an ecosystem that promotes plug and play interoperability between systems and allows for timely, accurate and actionable data to be pulled more easily to address educational needs. The session will detail how these standards are used to connect up systems like eSchoolPlus, as well as the growing list of beneficial solutions that are being built on this interoperable platform.
